So, about two weeks ago, out of the blue, I get an email from one Jessica White, inviting me to come see Bash'd: A Gay Rap Opera. I'd been seeing advertising for a couple of weeks and was curious to go check it out. Being just a tiny bit broke was the main thing keeping me from seeing it. So I was pretty Phreakin' excited when I got the email from Jessica!
Saturday night, Paul, the Miranda to my Carrie, and I went to see Bash'd. Paul was just ecstatic to have the chance to see a musical! Not just a musical, a rap musical! And not just a rap musical... a GAY rap musical! We get to the Zipper Factory Theater and it has the most amazing lounge ever; like Harry Potter meets 21 Jump Street. The theatre space itself is just Phenominal! A great stage and about 200 seats. The seats are all like car seats, padded two seat benches and theatre chairs; sooo Phreakin' Phierce!

So... apparently gays are responsible for the growing threat of rabies running through Chelsea? I kid you not! Jennifer, who I shall henceforth dub Lady Fang, and I were walking up 6th Avenue today and written across several posters on the avenue was a serious public service announcement: Gays Give Rabies. We're raccoons!

I'm here at FIERCE headquarters, the day after NYC Pride 2008, and all I can say is that it was Phucking Phierce!! I woke up early Sunday morning and got my Phabulous going strong! It was my first Pride ever and I wanted to be ready! I broke out with Sparky's sisters eyeshadow and worked it.
Sparky and I had a bit of a string of bad luck trying to get there, but once we did and everything was in order, we met up with FIERCE and got ready to march our asses off!

So today, the day before the NYC Gay Pride March, I made another lovely visit to Tygah's house where Sensei, The Standard, Faery Godbrother were waiting for Sparky and I. Chestykins and her sister were there too! It was supposed to be a BBQ, but the weather was all wacked out, so there was baked chicken and rice instead. Either way, today was a like a pivotal point in my life as far as dealing with life on my own terms.
Without going too much into details that aren't really mine to share, I learned so much from the Quixotic Quartet (as I shall call them now) as they were sharing how they all met each other and their own stories. On a very personal note, I've only been out for almost a year now, my birthday in August will mark about the time I finally came out to myself. I've never shared any kind of romantic feelings with anyone at all, male or female. Before I came out, I was an extremely religious person who "struggled" their whole life with the idea of being gay. The impulses were always there: the physical attraction to guys, the desire for sex with guys; but I lived in terror of being gay because I was taught that it was wrong, that is was an abomination before God.
