With all the buzz in the Fashion World about the 2008 British Fashion Awards, I've selected this year's Model of the Year, Jourdan Dunn. Discovered in Primark while out shopping with a friend in 2006, Jourdan was practically an overnight success. Upon her debut, she walked for Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren and, in February of 2008, she was the first black model to walk for Prada since Naomi Cambell. That was ten years ago!

Monday Muse - Heidi Klum
First let me thank two of my favorite people ever over at Project Rungay for this!
I selected Heidi Klum as this week's Monday Muse before I even knew about her spread in the December issue of InStyle Magazine. I just don't see how anyone could possibly have an issue with this incredible woman. Unless, of course, they are immature and jealous individual.

Monday Muse - Manolo Blahnik
This week's muse is none other than the legendary shoe designer, Manolo Blahnik. Honestly, I do not see how you can be alive and have never heard this man's name. I simply adore this man! How many people can create a product that women will practically kill each other for when they hit the clearance bin? At 66 years of age, he is as vibrant and full of energy as ever. He is so charming and witty, I can only pray that I might be as vivacious when I reach the age of 60.

Barack Obama Holds Election Night Gathering In Chicago's Grant Park
CHICAGO - NOVEMBER 04: U.S. President elect Barack Obama smiles on stage during an election night gathering in Grant Park on November 4, 2008 in Obama...
I've been struggling to get this blog back off the ground, but finally decided to stop making excuses and remember that blogging is fun. I've been approaching it like a job and I'm not even making money from it... at least not yet. I've been wanting to write weekly pieces, starting with the "Monday Muse". The Monday Muse is what or whomever I find inspiring and think needs to be shared with all of you. I could think of no better time than now to begin.
My first Monday Muse may have been a bit much on the side of obvious choices, but I have never been so proud as an American to call Barack Obama my president. I used to take the privilege of voting for granted and thought that my vote was just one in millions. What difference would it really make? Tuesday, November 4th, 2008, it made a tremendous difference.
