This week I have selected this piece by Alexis Marcou, an Illustrator. He created a variety of illustrations to accompany his typeface called "fuel". I chose this one for it's simplicity and strength. You can see the additional works and the typeface on Behance.net.
Born in Greece and raised in Larissa, Marcou's works are raw and, yet, refined. I love the inky, watercolor textures through out his portfolio which he accomplishes through a variety of techniques. He also incorporates this style into motion graphics and animation which is a treat to watch.
Looking at his collection, my mind immediately created an inky, billowing silhouette with sharp lines interspersed. This look creates an instant impression of glamor and power while still remaining light and delicate. If it's cold outside, throw on your peacoat and let the chiffon wrap double as a scarf! When you reach your destination, check your coat and surprise everyone when your scarf suddenly unfurls, drapes your shoulders and picks up a breeze. Smoky eyes and wavy, voluminous hair would make this look sheer perfection!
Please visit Alexis Marcou's beautiful official website to see his complete portfolio.

Dude, you're doing great with these Under the inPhluence posts !
