I Heart New York No. 2 - The Stroller

By J Edward · November 21, 2008 · 0 Comments · 11 Views

As a part of my confession of my undying love for la grande Ville de New York, I must relate the perennial tedium with slow moving proplr in the city. My sister and I have developed the following philosophy: When walking in New York City, please move like you Phuckin' have somewhere to go! Honestly! I am almost never able to take a leisurely walk through the city and even when I am able to, my friends are always telling me I move far too fast. Honey, I don't move too fast, you move too slow.

Let us look at it in another way to help put things in perspective. New York is one of, if not the most high energy locations in the world. Everyone else around the world says New Yorkers are always in a rush and don't know when to slow down. Why is that? It is due to the fact that the rest of the world depends on what happens in New York in some way, shape or form. Liquid, solid, gas, what have you.

Now, when we are rushing, trying to get to an appointment early, get to the mailbox before pick up or rush to try to beat the line at Starbucks, you have at least a one in four chance to run into a humanoid hurdle, otherwise known as "The Stroller", that person who likes to take their time walking down the street. Imagine walking behind this person when you need to hustle and there is no possible way around them. Sure, you can say excuse me, but even then they take their sweet ass time to move. Kind of like the sweet old lady driving her dated car on the highway, causing traffic congestion.

Seriously, if you're going to take a nice easy walk, go to Central Park or to the east side.

I always thought it would be a good idea for them to put traffic lanes on the sidewalks... Let's discuss this!
